First thing is to check is that you don't have a burnt out brake light - this will stop the CC from working.
Pretty self explanatory.

Set the brake switch if it's moved.

where did you get this info? cruise has nothing to do with the brake lights as the cruise system has its own separate switch for the brake pedal.First thing is to check is that you don't have a burnt out brake light - this will stop the CC from working.
which light are you talking about? Cruise or On? if its "Cruise" that's not coming on maybe check your fuses. if it the "On" light which comes on when cruise is activated is not coming on it could be a faulty indicator stalk which has the switch inside.Cruise light on dash doesn't light up at all
neither cruise or on lights come on at all when i press 'on'
fuses fine
It can be 2 things most often, the brake switch or the motor control thing.
It the brake switch is not working the system WILL NOT engage.

The separate (fail-safe) cruise brake switch is in addition to the standard brake switch - in other words the CC relies on 2 brake switches. Pages 282/283 of Gregorys workshop manual describes them - that is the source of my info.![]()

CC switch working fine and i took it out and set it properly
its a brain teaser
It was the buttons on the stalk that cuased this problen on my car last week.
I replaced the indicator / cruise switch with a new one and cruise works again !!
oh yea
how much did you pick up the stalk for?
Also check the CC relay is working - substitute it with a similar nearby relay. I got my indicator arm from a wrecker - $35
do all your checks before you go shopping as Hako said, ... a new stalk from Holden was $78. I've heard you can pick these up cheap on ebay and similar places but i was on holidays and wanted to fix it so i could cruise home lol.
Be aware that a lot of the cheaper ones on Ebay are of dodgy quality.
where is the CC relay?
engine bay or under u steering wheel?
under the steering
yea relay working fine also
i will pick a new indicator stalk up from the wreckers
When you pick one from the wreckers try to get one with legible letters on it - this is usually an indication that it's from a low mileage car.
Just before you go spending $$$ on an indicator, try bridging the terminals on the CC brake switch (the top one) - it can appear to be set correctly but unless you either test it with a multimeter or bridge the terminals you cannot be sure it is correctly set.
[QUOTE=hako;1317320] Not that I disbeleaved you hako just had a look at the Gregorys you are spot on mate.

My VS II Berlina Wagon
nah tested it with a multimeter
I recently had the same problems, first problem was the blade fuse under the dash was blown causing nothing to light up or work, replaced it and all lights came back on but the cruise wouldn't engage, so I adjusted the brake light pedal switch and was good. Btw my relay is in the BCM.
