    Default deciding wat oil to use in fresh built 308

    hey guys just deciding wat oil to use in my fresh mild built v8

    i bought penrite 10w 40 everyday driving fully synthetic

    or i was also thinking about

    the penrite sin 15w 40

    i heard i shouldnt use fully synthectic unless the engines done 5000kms

    which i havent done that much ive done around ova 1000kms

    which i used 10w 40 for a running in oil on 2 oil changeds dumpt it out and ran 20w 50 for another 600kms

    now the cars ready to be tuned just deciding wat my final choice will be to stick with cheers

    if your cam new ive herad you need lead additive for running in

    so maby use lead additive

    the cam has been run in already

    ive done the kms on the clock just wanna know wat oil great to stick with

    any good brand name 20w50 will be fine for the old 304 dont waste your money on fully synthetic is only really an advantage in turbo cars due to the exstreme heat when the oil goes through the turbo.repco 20w50 is what i use and it works well

    No wonder you got kicked off AV8 forums.... You are about as smart as a door knob. If you don't know what you are talking about, then don't post. Lead additive goes in fuel. Zinc is the additive for when running in cams.
