hey all, i got a VR V6 auto stock 3.08 open centre diff. i was wondering whats involved in putting a mini spool in it? what exactly is a mini spool and can i just get it put into my diff (proffessionally done lol) with no major drama's? ive heard of a vn v6 with just a mini spool in it but not still quite sure what goes down, thanks all. : )
mini spools are illegal for street driving, if your car is for show, competitions etc should be okay but if a cop pops the hood you'll be fined.
and a mini spool creates greater airflow to the engine which means more oxygen into the engine which adds greater combustion which adds an all around performance upgrade.
hope that helps.
WHAT? hahaha, a mini spool is what is fitted to the diff centre which locks the diff forcing both wheels to go the same speed. a mini spool is illegal aswell but harder for the cops to find out.mini spools are illegal for street driving, if your car is for show, competitions etc should be okay but if a cop pops the hood you'll be fined.

there is a "how to" which gives you an idea on how to install one

your back tyres dont last long from driving around roundabout and parking with a mini spool it would b cheeper 2 get a lsd then buy new tryes every week, and i dont know if any 1 place wil do it cos they could loose there licence

On the other note, people shouldn't post unless they know wtf they are talking about
e.g people thinking a mini spool is a turbo and people thinking a spool will kill your tyres in a week..... idiots lol
O im sorry for posting cos im a ****ing IDIOT my inside tyre was ****ed from going around roundabouts , in my town we have no lights its just roundabouts, so after about a week on tyres that had about 50% tread left they where ****ed so chases where a lot cheaper way 2 go then 18s, so i got a lsd so i dont have that problem anymore

Any burnouts in between? that is what would kill your tyre's..... My car is drivin daily, roundabouts, parking, suburban streets etc and my tyres have lasted for ages now WITH a spin of the wheels occasionally so i dont know how yours died so quick unless the wheels were spinning on the spotlmao
CORRRRRRRRRRRRRRECT!
wel my left tyre was cos it is rotating the exact same as the right side tyre around the aroundabout there for burning out my left side tyre then getting the right hand side when u park on a 45 degrees angle
cheers man dont wanna fight with ppl on hear its a good form i got a day off work and im sitting on the computer lol and burnouts not in mags im not that rich lol but in chases yes lol
Everyone is welcome to post on the forum, but you'll just make a name for yourself if you keep posting crap, therefore no-one will take any other posts of your seriously.
Even describing it in that post, doesn't make the spool at fault. You would have had the same issues with an LSD.

I freely admit I've never owned a car with a spool, and I can accept that these problems may not be that severe to bother you, but I can't see how you can sit there and say if you drove two cars (one spool, one LSD) around a roundabout indefinitely, they would wear at the same rate?
Please explain.
