BANG! Coolant Everywhere!

Hey all

My misses was parking my VS the other day (I wasn't there) when there was a loud band she said. Steam came out from under the bonet and there was coolant everywhere. The car was still runiing and didn't shut off.

What could of caused this. I am thinking (hoping) that she as just split a pipe or something. But I would like ot hear best and worst case senarious.

I am interstate anc can't inspect the car until Saturday.

Help put my mid at ease.

Probably burst one of the side tanks on the radiator - a common fail. It will need a new radiator if this is what happened (under $150 on Ebay). It may also just be a burst hose. Good Luck.

Ours went bang at the petrol station... Plastic end tank, then 10 sec later the top hose...

We bought a complete radiator from All Carbitz, 67 MEadow Ave, Coopers Plains (Brisvegas) for $140 including the transmission fittings (both push in and screw on).

could easily be your heater tap also ... as happened to me

mine went bang today lost a full tank of coolant xD
all because of a bit of air (aparently)

will be checking for damage tomorrow.
