Default Can i wire a speed alert to my VR without replacing wiring loom?

Hi guys... I recently replaced my dash facia as my old one was cracked. The replacement however has a speed alert computer. There are no existing sockets into which it could plug. Is it possible just to wire it in or is that a little dicey? Any thoughts appreciated. Cheers.

if you go to the wreckers and find the plug that plugs into the speed alert, it can be wired quite easily, only a few wires, just gotta find where they go.

there is a thread on here somewhere that shows what wires go where

got the plug running to just bare wire ends... thats sort of the answer I'm after. So it is possible and relatively simple to do. Now to find the thread detailing where they go. Cheers mate.

I've got a L2 loom stripped back ready to make it a L3 patch loom. I'll look at the speed alert wires tomorrow night for you.

Speed alert is completely seperate from Level 3 cluster (I'm interchanging two at present).
The wiring is not similar, I guess except for ignition and ground (lol).

Very handy info on this page: how to install a speed alert in a VR/VS

I'll probably confirm the information on that page (as to whether its correct within 24 hours) - I did the Level 3 cluster conversion again today already

I have a lvl 2 cluster but am under the impression that should not matter... I was hoping that the wires sending the signal to the speedo can be tapped into before it even reaches the cluster. Is that not how it works? I am working with logic, trial & error, and whats in front of me. Never done this sort of thing before but confident enough to give it a go if it's a viable option. Any help is better than no help at all. Thanks guys for the quick responses.
