Default when was abs made standard? vr executive

Hi... I was wondering if anyone might be able to shed some light on why it is my 93 VR executive has ABS and my neighbours 94 VR executive does not? Is it likely that his was removed, mine was standard, mine was optional extra. As far as I know my car is stock. It rides lower than most though. Have been told shocks are OK but maybe springs are ****ed. Has a red stripe all round (charcoal grey body) but for all i know so did thousands of others. I have peeled it off as I it looks like it has been there for longer than the car has been on the road and gone a faded orange....yuk. GONE. But I dont see too many other commies out there with red stripe around the car and was wondering if maybe this was a specific edition that came with ABS standard or if the buyer has just requested it...? NOT THAT IT REALLY MATTERS THAT MUCH, BUT I'M JUST CURIOUS... lol

Pretty sure it became standard across all models on the VX, as said i know plenty of VT's without ABS...

If you own an Acclaim its almost certain it has ABS, they were marketed as a safety pack and was apart of the standard features, that said it could have been an option on all models past VP when it was first introduced.

Safe to assume then I suppose that these are dealer options - ABS, red trim, towbar, AC etc. Have seen a lot of series 1 VRs without many or all of these options. Checked and is STD suspension. Springs probably had their day from towing or something before I owned it. Makes sense actually, I had to replace the panhard rod soon after buying it. Thanks for all the answers RE. ABS. Had no idea that there were VTs without ABS...

would have been optioned up with ABS from factory, was optional on all models (except for a few select models like Acclaim and Calais).

ABS became standard fitment as of VX.
