Various VS Questions

Hi all, i just have a few random questions about the VS that are probably best kept in one thread.

1) Do the VS Commos have a speed limiter? I was curious, a mate of mine told me they do but im positive mine doesnt (a somewhat scary experience i dont think is worth repeting).
Just wondering so i can either prove my point to him or know if its just my car without one.

2)Can anyone please tell me how to remove the dark plastic section on the boot between the tail lights? (boot garnish?) i wanted to to see how it looks without it or mabey paint it white and stick it back on.

3)Lastly, i got some ugly dents on the front passenger side quarter panel. I havent gotten any quotes to get it fixeb but i wouldnt mind having a shot at something DIY and i was just thinking of replacing the whole panel. has anyone got an illustrated guide to do this?

2) open your boot, get a 10mm, undo the bolts behind the boot garnish, u should be able to figure it out after that just gotta take the number plate lights out

3) go into the "holden commodore how to section" of the forums, there is a how to on pulling dents out with a plunger or something

The only speed limiter is the engine. Might be a rev limiter though.

I think greenfoam once mentioned the rev limiter was 5650. You can get to the end of the speedo on them too, just find a long enough length of tarmac and try it. Just dont be stupid enough to do it on a public road.

my old VS V6 hit 210km/h before i backed off (only due to dead fox futher up the road) and it still had more in it. This was a flat straight long road,after i broke up with my then misses.

As said.10mm spanner will do for the rear garnish,undo the 2 nuts,unclip number plate light wires.

Thanks everyone for answering my questions i really do appreciate it. However in an unfortunate event today, all is for naught.

My babys been written off, ran up the back of an undercover cop. I kid you not. However, ive gotten off scott free as the officer believed i was not at fault, it was the person infront of him failing to indicate, poor conditions and some bad timing that caused all this mess.



Anyways, thanks for the answers to my questions, im sure i WOULD have found them helpfull.
On the subject of the speed limiter though, I did max out the speedo once and kept picking up speed, but i backed off before the revs got over 5000. Hence why i was curious cos if my mate was right and commos do have limiters then mine would have been removed.
