From what i can remember the VT/VX/VY gearboxes do fit in. So i don't see why not. The Auto have a different plugs for the computer and such but i'm sure the manuals are not going to give you any problems.

Can change your car to Manual. What gearbox are you putting in ? Getrag from a VT-VX ? if so you'll have almost everything you need to make it all work. Only thing left will be a memcal to suit. Getrag use a 2-wire speed sensor and your existing ECU will work fine.

EDIT: Wiring mods will be required though.

The wiring mods are VERY simple however, check out the manual conversion guide in the HOWTO section, it doesn't list that it applies to a VS, however the wiring info provided IS relevant.

Give someone like delcowizard, ejukated or greenfoam a yell and ask them to make you a memcal for your Auto ECU that will suit a manual conversion, they should even add a few tweaks to give you some extra performance too.

Maybe the hardest and most expensive item to come by will be the manual pedal box. ppl don't like to sell them seperate from the rest of the bits and the VT one is very different from the required VR/VS one.

yeah i have my eyes on one at the moment all that is missing is that tailshaft.
and the computer would need a new computer casues its for a vx.
so its got clutch flywheel and pedal.
but i was just posting this thread to make sure the vx box would fit before i go ahead and do it all.
    cheers

Yeah, holden has got you over a barrell there. The wiring can be modified to accept a VT V6 ECU then a EEPROM to suit will be a walk in the park.
