They are actually not the same. A guy on Ebay sold me what he claimed were VS injectors. The Bosch part number was 0 280 150 960, which actually fits VN-VR. VS injectors have the part number 0 280 150 973, and have a slightly higher flow rate and have a grey top on them. The pintle design is apparently slightly different and atomise the fuel better (but no as well as the VT-VX injectors).

I put the VR injectors in my car and they did fit and and worked fine, but when I swapped my injectors back to the proper type, I could feel a difference.
