I just tried taking one of the idler pulleys off and snapped the tread it screws in to clean off. How easy is it to fix? My wife is going off as we have to be somewhere early in the morning and im in servre shit!!!! ive added a pick with the pulley marked on it
short non aircon belt should get you running
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
how hard and how expensive is it to fix?
here's a pic i just took of it
Exact same thing happened to me - rusty bolt stripped the thread coming out.
In the order of $50 for a new mounting from memory. And 20 mins work (3 nuts to remove old mounting). Make sure you reconnect the earth back up that is connected to one of the studs.
Part #GM-92048388 (Support-A/C idler)
how'd you go getting the bolts out? i just snapped my socet, smashed me hand and im 10km from a mechanic or supercheap etc. So im not a happy camper right now lol
There are 3 studs around the edge of the mounting. You need an extension bar on your socket to reach the nuts, but I can't remember the size. Once they are off, the mounting should just slide off. Mine weren't that hard to undo, because the engine was covered in p/s oil at the time (similar to how yours looks).
yep its a 12mm socket......well was till i snapped itlooks like i'll be trying to find a mechanic that does house calls lol
