Default Speedo not working VS Statesman V8 5-speed

hey everyone. and before you tell me to do a ffs search i have done, and read all through the manual conversion thread. for VN-VR
i've converted my VS Series II Statesman V8 to manual using a gearbox from a VN V8

i need my speedo working. i'm using the auto engine loom and ECU, i know theres a way of doing this im just not sure what it is... ive got the reverse lights and neutral safety switch sorted. just need the speedo.

    cheers for any help.

VN's use the 4L60 which have the same speedo plug as the T5, i had the 4L60E which is a different plug so i think im in a bit of a pickle..

Like he said there, morton could use the auto computer without any problems. VS is where the problems happen.

hmm i got mine to work in my stato but not my senator....anyways...there should be 3 wires on the manual sensor...sense(purple/white), +(pink) and -(brown or black)..(i think thats the colours by memory). What you do it cut the plug of the sensor, run the sense wire up to behind the cluster and join it to the same colour wire that goes into the cluster, then go to the ecu and there should be 2 wires that are the same colour(purple with a white line) cut them...then pretty much run the + and - to a power suply...i used my cig lighter....then it should work...it worked on my vs but not on my vr so i guess you kind have to chance it...well good luck and hopefully that works.

its all in the manual conversion thread theres a violet wire in a plug by the ecu that goes to the dash join into that from the vss it will get the speedo working but the ecu wont see what speed you are doing as for power for the vss theres switched ignition power in the auto loom that used to plug into the auto that works great for powering the sensor

the trip computer will work fine.

However you will have other running issues, although you willa llready be having them, my new VSS arrived today, it goes ina nd works like the regualr speed sensor, but it emits a puls (Same as the 4l60E VSS) so I am sending my memcal back to ejukated (A guy on these forums) for a tune to suit.

Can't wait to have a perfectly running manual conversion.
