hi all,,,, i was just wondering about a few things
how much dose it cost to paint a car because im doing a vr up and the paint is reali shit lol...
and i was also looking at buying a supercharger but have no idea where to buy 1![]()
How much to paint a car depends on how far you want to take it, what paint, how much prep work you do yourself. For a basic respray of the outside I'd guess around 5-6k
For a supercharger hit up CAPA or Raptor, they have some good kits available
for 5k to 6k you would be looking at a full doors of shmicko paint job. for around 1k you could get it resprayed decently in the same colour. as for superchargers try crs or raptor superchargers. do it on the cheap like i am and install a sc14 supercharger. cost me 250 for the supercharger, $100 for various piping and accessorys and i made my own brackets to suit![]()
Where the hell can you get an entire car sprayed for $1000, unless you sanded back, primed and painted the damn thing yourself.
Who needs body prep and 2-pack when you can get aerosol packs?
Fixed it. No way for 1k could you get an entire car done to a "decent" standard. 1k is about what it costs for patch work and fender benders. 1k wouldn't even come close to covering labour for a full car respray.
As for the charger, CRS kits are probably the go for a VR as mentioned before.
bahahahahahaha
I know a place that does same colour resprays for $1000. They just wash the car, give it a light scuff and then mask it up. Then the guy tells me then they just spray on thinners to soften up the existing paint. Then a couple coats of colour followed by a couple coats of clear. If you book it in, you could have the car back the next day. Any bodywork /repairs are extra.![]()
Doesnt sound like the route id want to go if i was building 'mighty-vr'
i know of a few panel shops around melb that will do a doors on respray in the same colour for $1000. a mate of mine just got his calais completly resprayed engine bay door jambs inc, it was a rolling shell in a 3 layer pearl for 4.5k and it is one of the nicest jobs ive seen for a while, no imperfections at all, and wouldnt look out of place in a top car show. it doesnt need to cost the earth for a descent respray, you just need to do your homework and shop around.
