    Default !!!trouble identifying genie extractors or not!!!! HELP PLEASE

    hey guys
    bought a pair of genie extractors off ebay. recieved them today and coudlnt help notice where the welds are theres alot of little dots of steel around them. like when you weld something and all the little bits fly off. there all around it. is this normal?

    Yes it is. If they are Genie, they will have a Genie badge welded on the primary pipes on both sides.

    ohk
    nah its only got 1 welded on the longer extractors. the shorter one doesnt have it??

    I've got genies on my vr v6 and both sides have a genie badge and some numbers/letters identifying what sort they are.

    Some companies do replacement tubular manifolds that bolt up to the original engine pipes. Proper extractors will come with a Y pipe that goes back to the cat. Genie do a full replacement extractor, LH, RH and Y pipe. They are not full extractors, they look like tubular manifolds.

    they are still extractors and will be better than the cast manifolds thats for sure
    I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
    tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable

    and there going to give me the same amount of performance gain as any other extractors?

    abba fan works at a performance exhaust shop, if he says they arent genie extractors they arent. You'll find they may be slightly better than factory ones but not as good as proper extractors.

    My point is they are not proper extractors. They shouldn't be sold as extractors. They are tubular replacement manifolds. Proper extractors have the correct primary pipe lengths to make sure that each exhaust pulse reaches the collector at different times, this is what causes the scavenging effect or "extraction" of the exhaust gases, hence why they are called "extractors".

    Yes, they would be better than the factory cast manifolds, but not by much. The person who sold them was misleading if he called them "extractors".
