Today my friend with a VR was complaining that his wipers and indicators had both stopped working in the middle of the pouring rain yesterday, so I checked out his fuses.
The wiper/indicator fuse was wedged in tight, I had to yank it bloody hard to get it out, and ended up bending one of the contacts that holds them in place. The fuse was completely ****ed! It had burned through, the prongs were all burnt and warped, even the plastic was melted and blackened.
I was wondering what could cause this, coz i thought fuses just popped and that was it.
Any ideas?
Jordan
usually they heat up and melt due to a bad connection
I have a couple that do this also, and I'm not 100% sold on the theory above, because I can't think physically why that would happen from a poor connection..

yip poor connection they arc causing extreme heat but wont pop the fuse typical commodore problem
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
poor connection = increased resistance = heat = melting![]()
Power is measured in DECIBEL
i've had a few cars come in where i work when customers say their spotlights stopped working or an aftermarket 12v plug in their car stops working, first thing i check is the fuse and alot of the times the whole fuse holder and fuse is just a melted mess lol
poor grounds can do this
If Barbie's so popular, why do you have to buy all her friends?
SO what's the fix, if it's only one fuse out of a whole bunch that does it?
