Nver had to do this in my VS. The key should be programmed to turn it off automatically. Are you sure the key isn't stuffed or just not getting a good connection with the metal ring around the ignition? If you have another key, try that.

Someone else might have had this problem, but thats where i'd start with it.

change the battery in ur key, i found in my old car that it was playin up and i had to press the button to unlock and lock a few times then the car would turn on, but once i got off my ass and changed the battery and cleaned all the dust out of the key it worked fine

Fix No. 2, Problem will go away.

I don't think anyone is willing to tell you how to kill a factory immobiliser on a VS seeing as a lot of people have them.

It wouldn't be a problem if you fixed things properly.

Ahh, Farm car. What do you want the central locking for then?

If you're willing to ditch that, just solder the key to the immobiliser wires, done

theres an issue here because if someone does say how to disable the immobiliser that leaves everyone hear to learn how to steal a car. i know thats not your intention (i hope) but its still a risky topic. not something to be discussed in a public forum i think

    just my 2c

Well it isn't really a stealing issue cos you already have the coded key for that car. You can't go to anyone elses car and just solder any key to it and drive away, if you have the key, you have the car with no soldering req'd.

No idea what wires they are, but they have to make it back to the ecu somehow and have to be connected to the ignition.

If you have set the switches up properly, you should just have to turn it on and then hit the starter and it should get the code by itself without the button being pressed.
