Hey guys working on a mates vs ute it started to cut out on him randomly and then would run.. Then come back to it after bout 1 hr and it would be fine for a while then die again.. I told him the pump sounds like its dying,(sounded really crap Plus 285,000klms on it) So we replaced it. fire it up and it runs great..
1 Day later he ring me and says it has stopped again so leaves it for a day or 2 at my house while i have a look at it for him.. Now i get the car to crank and run for like 30 min or more then turn it off come back to it 10min later and wont start, Cranks over but wont start.
Turn ignition on and no fuel pump noise. Check for power at the fuel pump as you turn ignition on and yes have power for bout 2 or 3 sec(tested with test light) which is normal go to crank it over and fuel pump gets power(with test light) but will not run and still no sound from the pump, Now has a really good fat spark and have replaced the plugs as they looked old and it was time anyway..
Check the codes and come back with 12, 12, 12 and also 47 which is Crank Angle Reference Signal so i have replaced the crank angle sensor. cleared the codes and now only have 12, 12, 12.
Am i poss looking at a faulty fuel pump... dont really want to pull the tank out again...
Yeah true but this ute has a shelf above the tank lid which makes it not a pretty job to do again..
The thing that annopys me is that it was running before i bolted the tank down and cover back on.
Happened to me the other day. turned out to be the fuse for the pump.
my code check comes up 12 12 12 then, 46, wich is CAS no signal???, ive replaced spark plugs, leads ignition module everything...lol still same problem, dont know what to do
