not sure about the one you are talking about but I have one of these sets
COMMODORE HEAVY DUTY SWAY BAR LINK KIT VN VP VR VS VT - eBay, Other Car Parts, Accessories, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 31-Oct-09 11:38:19 AEDST)
Cost a little bit more but man what an improvement this made to the car - mind you the original link pins were shot

I bought one, but turned out it didn't fit my aftermarket sway bar, so I sold it to someone else
It looked the goods though, I wish it had fit. It's really just a metal rod, some washers and a couple of bushes, which is why they can sell them for ~$30.

not sure about the no name brand ones mate, do you have a link?
i have the White Line heavy duty link pins and polyurethane bushes and they are great, but were $50
The biggest advantage with poly bushes is they are tougher. I was going thought rubber link bushes every few months because the factory link pins were a crap design in the VT, and still not brilliant up till the VZ when they finally put ball joins on both ends.

I had one of the z bar kits on my vs and did end up pulling the bushes off of one sid on the bottom only as is common. It wasnt as bad as the original bars and does help. I have recently switched to ball joint top and bottom link bars and that should give the movement that will help it out once and for all.
Got a set myself of Ebay, lowered my car, followed the fitting ins. on "ebay" no probs at all. Don't reckon they do much from standard, but gotta be better than worn out old ****ers, that are 15 yrs old! Your not on a race track and if you were THEY DON'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE to the handling........ in the head ya know!!!!!
Heavy duty links aren't really needed unless you have an aftermarket sway bar. I have the 30mm whiteline sway bar and kept the old links on, and in a day, the bottom bush on the link broke off (lots of rattling), the old links were also bent at the bottom at almost 45 degrees, so they were uselss. The heavy duty ones off ebay are all the same, the only difference in costs is the quality and type of bushes used. Buy a cheap link kit, and most likely the bushes will break off within a month. The nolathane ones are pretty reliable, the bushes will last ages. As for the links themselves, they are all the same, and pretty thick, so they all do the same thing.

hi
in the picture vn-commonwhore added
is the bottom bar the Z bar?
also why are the VX sway bar diff tent to the VT?
VX got a ball joint on the bottom of the sway bar not bushes.....
The Z-shaped sway bars are rubbish if you have a lowered car. Ive got ultra low kings in the front, and I snapped 3 pins, where the thread starts. Each in less that a couple of weeks.
Best thing to do is go to Bursons and get the standard link pin kits they sell. With the straight pin, not Z-shaped.
They are only abouy 40-50 for the pair including bushes and everything you need.
Finally replaced the Z-shaped pins with the aftermarket copys of the originals from Bursons, been in for 6 months, havent had one problem.
This is the kind of link pin I was talking about a few posts up.
VN-VY Heavy Duty Link Rods – WA Suspensions - Osborne Park, Perth, Western Australia – Suspension Parts & Servicing
They are holding together well so far and I have not had an issue with them at all.
(I didnt actually get them from those guys but they shouldnt be hard to find.)
