Default coolant line going into timing cover

Had to get a new timing cover as i cracked my old one trying to put it back on

The new one didnt come with the metal pipe for coolant that the heater hose goes into.

I had a hell of a time getting the old one off the old timing cover... however it doesnt appear to be a thread or anything, it just sits in there.

I replaced the o-ring and put it in the new timing cover... however it just wobbles, feels loose. In the old one it was tight

is there something else that needs doing? some sealant or somethin?

On a VN series I it does just sit in there, retained in position by the nut on the bracket under the power steering pump. The old one will have been tight because of corrosion.

It's possible that on an old cover with some corrosion that you may have to use some silicon based sealant, even with a new 'O' ring, but they are not designed to need that.

Some rubber grease may help the 'O' ring slide in.
