    Default VR Horn issue

    What's wrong.

My horn only works when the steering wheel is turned.

    What I've done.

If taken the center of the steering wheel off, checked the wires, cleaned the copper plate and it still only works when i turn the steering wheel.

Anyone got any suggestions? i tried searching in the howto section but all i could find was guides for how to change a horn or guide on horns that dont work.

    Thanks for the help guys.

I think this rings a bell but im not sure. Its something to do with the clock spring, or is that for the airbag?

by what your saying your car has no air bags with means its got a horn slip ring and contact brush. youll have to replace the brush cause it will be worn out. or you can go for the easy solution and build it up with some solder.

its most probably the contact pin above the steering wheel. They wear down after a while and the copper ring on the steering wheel isn't completely flat so therefore it can only make contact at the sides. You can just whack another contact pin in or do like i did to get me through and put a fired .22 shell over it lol
