Default My VS Acclaim problems. Need help!

Well, as the title says, I have a few problems.
I only just recently bought the car off a mate of mine.
    It's done roughly 215,000k's.
Im pretty sure it's got a rear main seal blown... 6 - 700 bucks to repair...
Got the car for 2 without rego...

Problem 1 - When the headlights are one, sometimes the brakes in the tail lights wont go on. It happens every 1 in 6 - 7 times.. Just wanting to know what can fix it...

Problem 2 - It's really slow in changing gears, disappeared when I cleaned the throttle body but came back a week later...
Could it be the really old filter it has in it?

Problem 3 - One of the rear tires is wearing on an angle. The outside is fine, plenty of tread but the inside is almost down to the wear marks...

There's not much more I need help with...

Thanks for any information given guys!

Are you pointing out it has a rear main seal as something special...?

all engines run a rear main seal..

    now to the questions
its possible the light problem is just a dodgey earth try cleaning all contacts at the lights

try getting the trans serviced it probably hasnt been done in years

and youll need to get a wheel alignment generally about 50 bucks

Re the rear main seal - you can pull the trans yourself and then it only costs about $30 for the seal. While you are under there drop the pan on the trans and change oil/filter/gasket for another $60. Otherwise you will be paying big money to mechanics for repairs. You can get plenty of help on this forum.

Well, the problem doing it myself is that I dont have the tools to do so.
I can just do small stuff really.
She also needs new engine mounts so I can do that at the same time.
I could always ask my gf's uncle to help maybe?
I know the rear main is a days job... That 3 gaskets are done at the same time..

The transmission problem is weird though, cause it got smoother when the throttle body was cleaned?

This girl needs a good lot of loving..

You probably need a camber kit on the rear, only the front end is adjustable (ie. when doing a wheel alignment) without it

    Ah crap...

Is it normal for a Commodore, when starting up, to go to 1500 revs then slowly goes down under 1000 in idle?

Mine does it, but it's done 350 000km.

Yeah my mates does it as well, and his is around the same as yours. It hasn't done it since I've put a new starter motor in, old one died. I don't think it's anything too serious, it doesn't do any damage if thats what your worried about..

Ok, well, found out the brake light problem.
It was the switch on the brake pedal..
Getting that replaced so it's all goods.

Both my VR (260K) and my VS (380K) do this. they seem to hold the higher revs longer when running on 91 (I normally run both on 95). Im not sure why they do thyis, but i doubt its serious.
