Could someone help me,i recently had a gearbox put in by mechanics. when i got home i drained the radiator and replaced the coolant took it for a drive only to find out i had not put the radiator cap on properly and lost most of my coolant. lack of cash ,i had to put water in radiator and now its leaking from underneath motor, so is it the waterpump? if so how much to have replaced, please help
you could have one of many water hoses loose, the water pump is on the front of the block, where the pulleys are, if its leaking from here I would consider water pump, but they dont fail very often.
I had a water hose leaking on the back of the block somewhere and they are a bloody bitch to get to.
Cheers wrong thread.

I presume that in replacing your coolant you only removed the bottom radiator hose. If you are getting leaks I would suggest that you either haven't pushed the hose in far enough, the hose clamps aren't tight enough, or that you might have damaged the hose and need a new bottom radiator hose. If you have undone other hoses you need to tighten their clamps or replace those hoses if you have damaged them.
