1993 vr remove centre console.

ive searched and couldnt find on how to remove the centre console.

i need to rip the carpet out, and im at the stage of just needing to get the centre console out and then the carpet will be free

can someone please point out how to remove the centre console ?

In the bottom of the compartment there are two little bolts... maybe 8mm?
Undo them... take the auto shifter surround off, and it sortof lifts up and slides backwards.

Its pretty simple. Firstly need to remove gear selector surround, remove the ashtray first, then gently pull surround up there are several clips holding it in, once free maneuver it over the gear selector and disconnect cigarette lighter wiring .

You should now see 2 large screws under the spare pocket beneath the radio, wind them out as they hold the front the console firmly under the center dash. Lastly remove the 2 screws under the carpeted section inside the center console, the whole console should now be free and removable, (if you have power windows you will need to disconnect the wiring)
