speed alert and cruise issue

hey,
i have a 95 vs s1 exec with a bit of an odd issue
one day the speedo alert started going off no matter what speed i was doing then noticed the cruise stopped working
ive noticed when i put the speed alert in speedo mode the speed fluctuates something crazy

the main speedo is fine, i have also noticed if its in park it will read 0 but when its put in drive is when it starts to fluctuate

any ideas??

It may be the VSS - vehicle speed sensor - check the plug on the transmission for looseness or damage. It could also be on it's way out.
