could be any number of things. but it being a VS ecotec i'd suggest that your O2 sensors are part of the problem. what is the sevice history like? fuel consumption? etc

i'd suggest starting with a good service. change oil, filters, plugs and leads(if more the a couple years old). don't forget the diff oil cause i bet it's never been changed

blocked air filter could be a cause but a good service as i've suggested should eliminate that. try cleaning the MAF sensor as well

Does it feel sluggish for a V6? Or does it feel like normal V6 and you are just trying to get wheelspin and can't achieve that? I'm assuming your VS is stock?

Are you sure it's not the transmission playing up - this can cause slow response. Also check fault codes:

my vs has CAI, full difillipo exhaust, msd coil packs, 9mm ss induction leads, k&n filter, 69mm ported and polished throttle body. The gearbox was serviced 3 months ago.

did you get a tune to suit the 69mm TB? cause on the VS it stuffs the ecu up a little and alters the shift points which may be what your noticing. try the stock TB maybe and see what it does then

is it good once the revs get up a bit, say 3000rpm+ ?

clean the MAF. clean or change the airfilter. try another TPS.

what is the fuel consumption like?

find someone with a ALDL cable and run a datalog. best way to see what is going on really.

still think the O2 sensors are partly responsible, they are really only good for 100,000-150,000km's max if you want peak performance. thats assuming your car isn't suffering from the O2 wiring issues that the VS is known to have from the factory.

hi mate, mine is exactly what you describe, once it reaches around 3000rpm it takes off nicely

    what does this mean?

clean the MAF sensor. run some injector cleaner and a tank of 95 or 98ron fuel to clean out the fuel system.

what is the throttle response like?

sounds like it's gone out of tune because the O2 sensors are stuffed.

best thing to do is get hold of a ALDL cable and see what is going on with the engine

new O2 sensors really woke mine up. best thing is to get hold of a ALDL cable and check they are fuctioning properly. there is a known wiring issue with the O2 sensors on the VS model that makes the O2 give the wrong signals. basically if make the cur run crap and use a lot of fuel. there are some threads on the subject

check ebay for O2 sensors but get genuine ones. heard a few stories about generic sensors failing quickly. mine were $45ea plus postage

read through this if you wanna see what i've tried etc on my VS Ecotec development
