hi i have a vr s2 v6 extractors cai etc, now what is this foamy tuner ive been hearing about? anyone want to enliten me on what they are, what they do, power? and also a price thanks
Vs eco 3.8, extractors, 2.75" exhaust, roller rockers, cammed, bored out 20, t5 manual, rolling on king springs all way round with monroe gt shocks all way round, every door has a ding but looks can be very deceaving
A foamy tune you speak of is a memcal retuned by GREEN FOAM on this site. If you look up nicegrog on ebay it tells all on there.
INNAWE (in awe)
Noun 1. awe - an overwhelming feeling of wonder or admiration; "he stared over the edge with a feeling of awe"
2. awe - a feeling of profound respect for someone or something; "the fear of God"; "the Chinese reverence for the dead"; "the French treat food with gentle reverence"; "his respect for the law bordered on veneration"
sorry nicefrog on ebay lol

I assume you are talking about a custom tune by Greenfoam? He's a menber on this forum ,but hes a bit like big foot people swear they have seen him and there are a lot of stories about him but no one can really find him
And even an uncomfirmed rumour he holds the world record for the most unread messages in his Pm box
I didn't think he was a donating member?
Ive been waiting on a greenfoam tune since the begining of time, back when Greenfoam Bigfoot and Elvis used to hang out and take flying saucer trips to pluto every second sunday.
If you send greenfoam a memcal make sure its bubble wrapped or he will email you 3 months later telling you that your memcal snapped right in half length ways and he needs to use glue to fix it.
Then a few months after that he will email you saying he has given up on that memcal and will put it on a fresh one for you.
Very busy man that guy.
ive got a delco tune for my v6 and he done an awsome job, i highly recomend him
yep wizzid does nice beefy ecotec/buick tunes , ive got one in my vs
maybe the mob has spoken, ive dealt with Delcowizard, Ejukated and Greenfoam each to thier own.
I don't know why everyone gets so ancy about Foamy not replying to PM's. If you logged on everyday and had 5000 PM's in your inbox, i'm sure you wouldn't reply to a lot of them either.
He DOES have a life and family apart from burning memcals for JC members all day. Give the bloke a break, he probably has 15+ memcals to work on, limited memcals themselves, and limited time. Give him time, he will get around to it eventually. These things do take some time to burn somewhat.

I didn't pursue it or ask for that to happen.
I'm like anyone else I just come on these forums because I like it. When you log on and have tons of messages with people asking you do do stuff it ruins the moment. If I reply to 10 I get 30 back, If I reply to 30 I get 90 back and I'm lucky to sell one tune from the 30 (total waste of time). I have no need or want to sell memcals over a forum, that's why I have an ebay account besides not being fair on the forum it's just not right (or fun). That's not just the case on here, it's also on SC, there could be well over 100 emails to write a day if I got carried away. You find that any of the big name forums guys usually leave their inbox full as it's the only way to get some peace.
However I'm left alone to just do the ones that people actually send me and have arrived to my post box with a good note in good condition it goes just about straight back, of course I almost never do generic tunes, I mostly only do very complex tunes so some take take a few hours time to complete but I don't do tune a and tune b and tune c in a row, I all do three/or 20 all at once bit by bit so I don't get sick of it. I very rarely do a tune that is just a matter of stick the memcal in and burn it, that's why I don't pump them out fast like most guys do. I'm almost allways the last guy that gets asked to fix tune X for 5 litre Y so I'm under some pretty good pressure to fix it when the big name shops couldn't. These cars are _not_ easy to tune and often takes me alot more hours than it's worth but it's a challenge and that's what I like.
Sometimes I open them and the note involves an almost impossble request that I wasn't told about beforehand and those have to wait until a later date when I have the technoligy to do it. That's all I know![]()
and put it this way... foam sent me 3 tunes in total, the first one was to get it running, the second was with some timing and fuel tweaks, i got it dynoed with the second tune and sent the air fuel ratio sheet to him, and the third tune is spot on, A/F ratios are all where they should be and my motors running happily...
ebay is the way to go, cos if you cant wait a few weeks for a tune then there are plenty of others that will do you a tune.... but it probably be as good as his cos he tunes it for your cars needs
Also guys I would very much enjoy to race my car this Friday and I'm busy in the shed so be gentle. The car is my testing platform and tunes for _right_ sized 220ish sized cams for banana powered 5 litres will be much better if I can do my own long term testing and racing on such a car. So I need to do that, it's pretty important. So I probably wont be talking to anyone until then
you need a lacky greenfoam :P
Hey who got ancy?
I was trying to shed some humor on the rewards of proper packaging, I have noted the three tuners worth dealing with on these forums, that I know of anyway.
As to the person who says Greenfaom should charge $100 for a tune, your dead right, and with the amount of work comming to Greenfoam he really should, just makes the effort worth it.
Greenfoam certainly has an air of mystery surrounding him...especially to those new to the forum.
But one thing is for sure, the guy is very giving of his knowledge on cars and is always helping out forum members with advice that is always worth taking!! Kind of funny giving props to someone you dont even know ..... but all deserved i reckon!
Anyway, i may ask for a tune to that 70mm t/b one day.... i ended up putting the original back on couple months ago which i know is all that is needed for the v6
Take it easy and good luck racing this season!!
Just wanted to add a final note for my involment in this thread.
Stay away from ebay tunes, unless a third party can confirm that they are worth the bother E.G Greenfoam.
Last thing you want is a fully sick unicorn chip that does nothing but leave you with a detonated engine and no support afterwards.
