Default Phillips 4000K H4 Blue Vision Globes

Hey guys i have a 97 VS and i bought some Phillips H4 4000K Blue Vision globes today from Autobarn and installed the low beam/high beam globes fine. In the packet, it came with an extra 2 globes which are W5W ones and i just presumed they were for just the high beams. After finally getting the old high beam globe out (it was absolutely stuck in there) i realised that the old globe was wider and longer than the new one i purchased. Did i just pay for 2 globes that arent even for my car? and are these globes able to be used anywhere else?
    Thanks guys.

you should never touch new bulbs when you install them. Leaving a finger print on them can burn them out faster

Phillips H4 4000K Blue Vision is still piss yellow aye? I was disappointed with that, or maybe my set was defective. Do you have pics of them in action?

Also how much did you get them for?

Went for a cruise out the road and did some adjustments on the headlights. i managed to take a few pics too even though the bonnet is up in them. When i installed them i put one in and then turned them on to check the difference and its a massive difference between the old ones and these ones. The new ones are definately a brighter white with a small amount of blue in it, im very impressed. feels like im driving round with the high beam on lol. Anyways heres the pics:

I do believe your fingers have oil on them, so touching a globe without a tissue or something leaves an oil on the globe, so when the light heats, the oil does too, which runs the globe alot hotter an can smash the globe.

nah i think you'd smudge the oil... it'd leave a little bit of resin.. im not sure though, you might be alright?

man your car looks sweet!!! haha

Anywho, back to the globes, if you do touch a globe it is best to give it a good wipe with a damp cloth, or something of the like to ensure you get rid of all the oil... its not a huge deal, but it wil certainly help!

    Cheers mate. its getting there.

Ill get some more pictures as i now have the same globes in the high beam and foglights. it makes a big difference to the light that comes out and also the look of your car from other road users. give's it a much more modern appearance.

Haydz - what have you got in your corner lights for globes, are they just the standard ones? I have a Statey with the corner lights that aren't used as indicators too, and have been searching for a white light to put in these. Have you by any chance found any that suit? I hate the yellow light they give off against the nice white light of the headlights.

    mate

ive gone for the american look with clearance lights. but ive found white globes for the side ones. you can get them at either jaycar or dicksmith. they are about 20+ dollars each and are white led's

so my side ones are orange and contrast pretty good i think against it.

Thanks Haydz. The orangle light against your silver car works well, but my car is burgundy so i don't get that clean orange look as you have. I'll check out those jaycar ones. Cheers, oh an love the Sigs with white walls.
