Default How do I change front springs.

Hey guys, I've done my rears but I know the fronts are harder/more tricky and I can't seem to find a how to.
I can get springs in/out fine but I just need to know where to jack the car, What bolts to undo etc.
My mates gonna lend me a hand so there will be 2 of use. Cheers

Easy as. you will need spring compressors however.

    1. Jack the car up from the crossmember and put jack stands under the chassis rails.

    2. rip your wheel off.

    3. locate the strut (not very hard) then find the two bolts down the bottom that connect it to the steering knuckle. The bold head i think is like 21 or 22mm, while the nut is 19mm. take the nuts off but leave the bolts in there to support strut.

    4. unclip the break cable and ABS line from the strut.

    5. Undo the 6 bearing plate nuts on the strut mount in the engine bay. once they are undone, you can pull out the two big bolts down the bottom of the strut, but support the rotor so its not hanging on the brake cable. Then you can manouvre the strut out.

    6. clamp the spring enough so that you can turn it around inside the strut. This is so when you undo the nuts on the top of the strut, they dont shoot through your wall and kill your neighbour. Then just take out all the part in the top of the strut (remembering exactly how they came out).

then you just do the opposite of all this to put it back in, easy.

no worries. you will also have to undo the bottom of the sway bar link where it connects to the sway bar. you might have to loosen the sway bar mounts if you can't manouvre the link pin out of the bar.
