Hi all, replacing both radiator hoses but the bottom one that goes into the motor seems hard to get to , because of the ignition coils are in the way, is there a way to unscrew or unclip the ignition coils to get easier access to the clip ?
Also in the 12 years I had this car, the heater hoses have never been replaced, I was thinking of replacing them as well while I am at it, they appear to ok but just wondering how often should you change them ?
thanks
Rony
Thanks ScoHar, it does seem like a real prick of a position, I will have a crack at it tommorow.
thanks mate
Can you get at it from underneath? I seem to remember doing one that way on a mates VS.
*edit* no it was a VT.....but the VS can be gotten to from the top.
I'd replace all the hoses. The old ones will be the weakest link in your system. A kit of the complete set cost me about $50 four years ago, not much more than the price of the top and bottom hoses. It is also important to use new clips. You may find a couple of the old ones wont tighten up fully.
G'Day Ron, I replaced them all with a kit from Ebay for about $60 - they were Gates brand and included a thermostat. I also replaced the heater valve as it is also a common fail item especially after you man-handle it removing the heater hoses.(mine snapped in two)
Thanks everyone, I will replace them all.
I am thinking about cutting the heater hoses off , try not to put any strain on the valve itself, if that's possible.
thanks again guys, much appreciated.
