    Default How to find out IRS

    Hey guys,
    Noob Question, would I have IRS on my VS? Its an 96 Acclaim Series 2.

    From memory all VS Acclaims were IRS (Mine was anyway). The picture below is from my VP but the VS is the same - that is an IRS setup.

    Think REAPER is right, all acclaims should have IRS, was apart of their standard features

    Oh and for me (a mechanical retard) how hard would it be to change springs? Or should I get it done pro? And roughly how much would it be?

    Very easy job on the rear. A little more complicated on the front. Undo the big bolt at the bottom of the shock absorber (mine are bright yellow) and the swing arm drops down a bit. From there the spring will just about fall out. Seat the new spring properly and do up the nut on the shocker. If you have lowered springs you will probably need a shorter shock absorber to suit.

    Be careful with IRS cars, they can develop serious camber problems if not done properly.
