    Default vs v6 manual engine same as auto engine

    i have a vs v6 manual ute that my heads are stuffed on. does anyone know if the auto engine is the same or if it has the different crank in it

    I think there might be a dowel hole on the crank, otherwise they are the same.

    If your in VIC I have a set of reco heads for sale.

    im in sa. im a mechanic by trade by some ppl say the engine is different some say they are the same
    im doing the swap coz i av a bit of poston noise too. the last owner let it runn out of coolant

    I think the auto has the cam angle sensor fitted whilst the manual engine does not. Otherwise they are the same - the cam angle sensor can be 'deleted' as it needs the auto ECU to run it - you have manual so no problems.

    I have heard from a not-so-reliable source that the manual got a forged crank, while the auto only had a cast crank. I dont think this is correct though.

    nah thats VR with the cam sensor on auto only VS it is on both
    I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong

    ty everyone for ur help. its going to save me alot of money knowing that i can use a auto engine coz for manual engine they want nearly double the cash
