Well I was going to change my front springs today, But I kind of stuffed up very major, I pulled nearly every joint/connection out, then my brother knocked the box over that I had all the bolts in sets so now I don't have a clue what bolt goes where. Can someone take some photos of theres or let me know what bolts go where? Would be much appreciated. Also, When I was trying to change the spring but I couldn't get the bolt on the top undone, Any tips on how to get it undone? Really beginning to piss me off now haha.
bolts are pretty self explanitary put them into groups then divide them into pairs. so each pair one goes on one side and the other on the other. they are all different apart from their pairs for each side. u will work it out. the best way is to rattle gun that nut
make sure you have a set of spring compressors on those front springs before you even atempt to take the nuts off
It is easier to undo the top nut with the car still on the ground. It should be the first that is cracked.
With all the other bolts, they can only go where they fit. But you should only have 2 bolts that hold the strut to the stub axle, 1 nut that holds the swaybar link pin to the strut, sometimes you need to remove a caliper bolt to get one of the strut to stub axle bolts out.
what do you need help with, as said above it should be pretty self explanatory, ill try make it easier, 4 big long bolts and nuts for strut-hub, about 12 smaller nuts for top hat, one flat looking gold coloured nut for under the bearing, and one for above. let me know exactly what your stuck with, done it a few times now.
Well there that bar a the bottom of the strut that connects to the car that the brake calipers and all that are attatched to, I undid that where it actually joins the car, So now I'm having trouble manouvering that and that S shape bar back into place, The S shape bar attatches to the car just under the swaybar (i think). Once I manage to get them back in I should be all good to fix up the rest, I need to bleed my brakes now aswell because my mate took the bolt off that holds the hose to the caliper.
Cheers
Hi,a gregorys manual would be helpful for these kind of jobs,I never do anything major without it.Step by step, you cant go wrong, unless you are a complete dill.
kirbs what state are you in?
if your not too far from mundaring give us a buzz if u get really stuck
You have to have both sides undone at the same time. Put the pins in with the inner bushes on first, then put the outer bushes and nuts on.
Awww shit, Sounds so ****ing obvious now haha. Well I'l wait for my mate to come around with his jack then we'll get it done. Thanks mate.
Oh yeah, I saw you the other day at the post office near the war memorial, was gonna say gday but you were to far away haha.
