i bought a set of superlow king springs. they were klhf-47sl and khpr20HD the catalogue said that these springs were for my car but i took it to the mechanic and he said they don't fit. whats going on??![]()
i have those springs in my car and they sit fine. You have to work out if your car is IRS, because off the top of my head they are live axle springs (what i have in mine)
Either that or the mechanic just didn't want to fit them.
Go to the King Springs site and look at their parts catalogue.
yeh i have live axle and i looked at the catalogue before i bought them.
so its all the machanic? haha
Hey guys my vs is sitting on fe'2 springs, is it possible to slam the rear on Ultra's or Super low's? If it is, what would u guys recommend? Thanks heaps![]()
i recon u shud stick with super lows. ultra lows is rough and youll probs have to get short shocks.
To answer your question corbovr, Just do it yourself. Rears are as simple as jacking the rear up by the chasis, Compressing old springs and putting new springs in and the fronts, Use this guide:
VS strut removal
Make sure you follow it carefully, I ****ed up bigtime.
your mechanic wouldn't have fit it because they are an un-roadworthy spring they are too low. that would be written in your catalogue as not being a road worthy spring hes just covering his ass, so in other words do it yourself if your mind is that way inclined. if it fails a roady after a po po pulls you over then the mechanic is covering his ass from you coming back and complaining.,
I can't see why you wouldn't. It's not like there's some rule for shock makers that says they can't.
The shocks I bought for my VS were shortened (Monroe GT's). Thier catalogue has "low" and "superlow". At the time that I purchased mine their parts page said that they were specifically for cars lowered with fe2, but I think they cater to lower setups now.
I'm sure GSL would sell them.
Monroe - GT Sport
thats whats in my VR. Comes with shortened bump stops
What makes the spring unroadworthy? If the car sits below 10CM when the springs are fitted then it might be classed unroadworthy.
Why cant you? It's not like they only discovered shortened shocks when VT's were made. Even if they never had that technology back before VT's then they can definally make them to fit now.
