Hi all,
I am having an issue with my VS sedan and changing the internal brake light bulb...
It seems to big for the hole to get it out, do I have to pull the Brake Light out to change it?
This is what it says in the gregorys manual-
High mounted stop lamp.
on sedan models proceed as follows
working from inside the luggage compartment(boot)rotate the bulb holder anticlockwise and remove it from the lens.
pull the bulb from the holder.
Thats about it.
Hummm i tried that but it seems the bulb is too big.
Thanks Brett jjj
maybe someone pulled it apart, and fitted a bulb that is to big to get out the normal way.if its blown, just pull it apart and remove old bulb, make sure you get the proper bulb to refit in it.Cheers
Gussing so....Thanks again.
i have to pull the rear parcil shelf out anyway to fit the rear speakers properly but was hopeing to put if off for a little while longer.
I just went and checked out my own one,it just turns and pulls strait out.Bulb just pulls out.Its gotta be the wrong bulb fitted, only thing I can think of,unless someone else on here has had the same problem, they might know what it is.cheers
Another thing you could try,you could just pull it hard ,it should make the bulb slip out of the holder, you wont be able to get the old bulb out,but you might be able to fit a new one in,until you get time to pull it apart.Dont forget dont just pull it ,turn it until it is loose ,then pull it.Ive never done any of this ,so it is up to you if you want to try it.

if your ment to get the new one back in like gregorys says without pulling it apart is it possible to smash the old bulb and pull it out in pieces, this might not be the best idea but its a thought. then just put the proper bulb back in and that shouldnt be a hassel if its the proper right sized one.
You can always rip the rear seats and parcel shelf out and do it that way.
What happens is when the bulb blows they sometimes expand a great deal.
Get a pair of pointy nose pliers and a vacume cleaner, it should do the trick.
