    Default top speed??

    Hey,
    Just wondering what the top speed of the different Vs models are? Mostly im after what a Standard manual V6 ute would be? Also wondering what speed it would be doing at redline with the standard gear/diff ratios?

    I know for definite that ALL stock VT and later commodores are limited to 200KPH(actually it bounces from 205 and 210)
    Just my 2 cents worth...

    VS manual is around 214 I think, while auto is 205ish and the transmission cant seem to make up its mind weather is wants to lock or not

    Are the utes the same as sedan's/wagons?
    Because i thought they might have shorter gears to help with carrying/pulling stuff?
    Also is that when the engine runs out of puff? or is that when it will rev out?

    i guess the utes will pull a bit harder than the sedans and wagons, just due to the fact that they are a bit lighter, not sure what mine weighs atm, should check on the weighbridge down at work.

    the v6 manual will never be able to get to the rev limit in top gear, unless its down a massive hill for a very long time.. i'd say it would get off the clock though if you gave it enough time, say a few k's of straight road. but i wouldn't and try it out though

    im not sure what the rev limit is on the ecotec, as i dont have a tacho, i think its around the 5500 - 5700 mark..

    my ecotec revs out to 6000rpm no worries.. have only done this once though haha.
    so id say cutout around 6100 or something

    Yeah mate dont know how much difference there is but my Vp v6 made it to 210 in 4 gear but it dont have the power to go much faster

    A mate of mine use to get to 215km/h in the auto but was revving to hard so he used to back off, but I'm pretty sure it was close to the limiter anyways.

    With the manual, got to about 4500rpm in 5th gear, can't remember exactly now, Worked it out through the RPM reckons it was around the 250km mark, Not sure though. Seems a bit high.

    This was in a Vr 6

    hey i dunno what yous are all on about i just had mine at 220 in 3rd gear the other day so i no atleast 220 in 3d and its a ecotec auto

    Around 2 years ago when I first go my license and drove like a tool, I hit 205 in my bog stock VS sedan exec auto 6, with a passenger. Shopping trolley spec suspension to boot. Relax, I lost my license a month after I got it and haven't sped since.

    200 ish isn't that fast, but its quicker than the falc 6 cylinders of the similar era. v6 commo's will get the speed but it would take a hellova long time haha.

    Well it was treated like an angel all its life by my parents, so It was in pretty good nic... Had around 200k on the clock at the time. Yeah I'll give it that.. it was a fairly long road. Just had a look at a map.. I would've been sitting around 100 at the 'start' point, Would've hit 180 and backed off to 170 for a slight corner after 1.2km, Then booted it again and hit 205 1.5km later. From memory it hadn't run out either, I just ran out of road.

    iv had my old vp round 210 it drops back to 3rd at around 180 if the foots planted and shes got sum ks under her not recommended all the time but the buick needs a good clean out now n then

    Few years ago i broke up with a girlfriend and took off.Now on a very straight road (in my un-modified VS V6 acclaim) I punched it and got to 210 with the car good for more.I backed off when i seen a dead fox on the road and if i hit it,chances are i'd be in a lot of trouble. Last time i ever hit 200 (in that car anyway)

    i couldnt tell you what the top speed is cause the fastest i've been is 110kph
    whats the difference between my missus and my blower??
    well they both whine but the blower actually puts out

    200 aint that scary,my V8 berlina seems to like it (stupid moment of stupidness). Me and a mate were having fun doing around 200-210 in our cars and mine felt good,my mate said he had to back off due to death wobbles

    haha yer i know its not all that fast, but im surprised a bog stock 13 year old v6 commodore could do it, because its by no means a sports/performance car..

    ive been over 240km/h once, i could only trust a ford to do that for me *takes cover*
    it was on a closed circuit of coarse

    Funny, a ford is exactly what I wouldnt want to be in at 240+
