Hi my bro has a vs v6 turbo ute that apparently has a vx engine in it. its running 5 pound boost at the moment. the engine is completely standard inside. whats the max boost in your opinion you can go to without re-building the engine?
Cheers
Depends how long you want it to last, how hard you drive it, etc.
depends what hes done for fuel supply really as the maf will be maxing out at 4000rpm at about 8psi
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
physically the engine will take over 15psi but need the fuel system and tune to be good enough. 10psi with a good tune will be reliable as long as its driven reasonably. My car has had 10psi in it for 3-4 years broken diffs, gearboxes, clutches driveshafts but still on original engine.
i wouldnt go above 6psi if u wont decent engine life and are wanting to give it a bit of stick every now and then
i used to have a VP and use to run 7psi on a standard motor, never had a drama, 9 starts to get risky
I ran 10PSI for five years without any problems!
PERFORMANCE MODS- JTG Liquid injection, Under driven pulley, Pacemaker extractors, 3" X-force system, Cold air intake, MAF Less tune 267.9 RWKW'S
