Washed my engine bay (VS Ute )last thursday.Did not cover anything. The motor now has a miss in it.Replaced plugs ,leads and done a diagnostic check-Code 12 came up.Surley the moisture would have dried out by now?Appreciate any advice
Check your coil packs... they don't like water
Check the spark leads connection to the spark plugs.
change your relays
do what my mate did after the same situation/problem in his au , swear, yell, kick the crap out of it and then spray 'everything' with wd40....... it worked![]()
whats the difference between my missus and my blower??
well they both whine but the blower actually puts out
Check your engine bay connections for water entry and spray with wd40 and dry with compressed air . and never use a high pressure cleanner under the bonnet again ?????
air flow meter ,a friend of mine drowned his engine bay ,would not run hardly at all
unplug the maf and see how it runs !
Thanks for all replies.Started at first reply.Coil pack with No 6 & 3 on it .No 6 terminal dead no spark.
Sprayed WD 40 all over coil packs blew dry with air compressor.Still has miss.Would it be the pack or DFI Module? Thanks again.
You can just swap the coil - see if there is a spark....if not it is the DFI but it's probably the coil.
Can I swap the existing coils around or get another from somewhere?
I'm pretty sure you can swap them around - the cylinder numbers are just stuck on and new coils have no number. Otherwise you can measure the resistance of each coil.
coil packs are interchange
Swapped coils around--Still no spark at No 6. Bought new coil at Repco - $75.00.
Installed and problem solved.Running great. Thanks to all who replied- A great site saved me heaps of money. Thanks again Bill T
