    Default dripping

I have recently been told by my mechanic to drive with air con on...nice warm air and on recycle this acts as a dehumidifier taking the dampness in the air out( being winter of course) however I have been doing this and today when I parked my car I noticed a dripping sound onto something hot.....I would assume this is the aircon dripping?????is anyone able to answer this for me..

    cheers boyz

Your mechanic is correct in saying what he has.
An air conditioner was originally designed as a dehumidifier,
just so happens that in summer it works just as well to cool the air.

What you are probably hearing is moisture from the air conditioner running out of the outlet and dripping onto a hot exhaust. Its quite normal for an air conditioner to drip water in summer as the hot air hits the condensor causing moisture build up. Similar circumstances would be occuring.

If your really concerned just drop back into your mechanic and question him.
    Costs nothing to ask questions
