    Question vs 5ltr fuel econmy???

    hey there

im going to buy a 5ltr ute again but manual, cause my was written off the other day!

and i was wondering the fuel econmy on petrol??

mine was a dual fuel, so i ran it on gas 24-7.

also the one im looking at is 185 hsv enhanced, is that much better than std engine or is it just exhaust and tune????

    thanks speco!

Guessing you didnt do a thread search
No the humble VS 5L aint that bad on fuel.Flog it everywhere and you'll pay big,on both fuel and tyres but that really goes for all cars. My 5L gets around 550-600k's from a (80L) tank, and thats with it needing a service and exhaust leak

my 5.0 185i ute gets around 250kms to 50 litres so thats about 20L/100k's. thats country driving.

So i guess mine is a "gas guzzling V8" lol

saying how much you get from a tank doesn't say much. You need to quote the litres/100k's

My wagon (5 Litre 5 Speed) gets under 10L/100k's city, and 7L/100k's highway driving. Pretty bloody awesome considering its a 'gas guzzling V8'.

I wonder this every time i look at my fuel usage And to think, thats with the 5 speed, imagine how low it would be in my 6 speed

Sorry stealth,i was too lazy to work out the Ltr/100kms. Mine does 10-14ltrs/100kms but that was with the exhaust leak and needing a service. Yet to do a good long run since converting to 5 speed and fixing leak and actually noting the fuel usage. Mid next year,im getting a 6 speed and 3:91 diff ratio put in. Love to know what to expect the fuel will be like then

oh btw i have a heavy foot and the engine is a bit tired but i still average 12.4/100kms
whats the difference between my missus and my blower??
well they both whine but the blower actually puts out

From people ive spoken who've had them, and my experience with my 5ltr, you can expect 12.5ltr/100k's.
