Hey guys,
I've got a couple of simple questions that I just wanted to ask...
I've got a 1995 VS Ute and the owner before me has wired up the fan to start when the ignition is turned on, so its always running when the motor is. I just went past the wreckers to pick up some stuff and he acted as if it was the worst idea in the history of mankind. Why would this be a bad thing?
Also, I plan to get a B&M Line Locker/Launch Control kit soon, are they hard to self install on a VS Spack Ute or would it be better sending it off to the mechanics as it is tampering with the brakes...?
Also, I'm hearing a little pinging when the ute is started when its cold, I'm hoping that its just the wrong oil so... What oil should it have?

I have a thermo fan set up to come in once the temperature goes half way between the second and third bars. Can't see why it would be a problem in your case, as long as it still lets the engine get up to operating temperature. The only problem I can think of is that it will wear out your fan quicker, but otherwise, as long as it's running at operating temp then it's fine.
The B&M kits are fairly simple to install, how are you with electrics? You will need to wire up the solenoid, that's probably the hardest bit.
Are you sure the noise is pinging? Does it make then noise when idling or when you put the engine under load?
sounds like the pinging is the lifters rattling b4 it gets oil preasure! most cars do it when they get a few ks on them! if the noise dosnt go away then u have to worry!
