my 1996 vs berlina
http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/...s-berlina.html
yeah was thinking of changing the car back to stock, and selling off the bits ive put onto it, but like u said, could be waiting awhile for the right buyer, as it is only an equipe, and theyre boring as **** standard...
i dont mind the white fascia, brightens the otherwise dull dash up
and sorry its a 96
looks good except the headlights just dont do it for me in black.. id say if the buyer believes the KM's etc u shud b lucky/happy with 7G...nice looking VS though
You would widen your market by taking it back as far as possible to stock as has been previously suggested although considering the car has been lowered it may be more trouble than it's worth. The other negative is that the car has be fashioned to your tastes and unless the prospective buyer has identical tastes you may find that just one mods (maybe extractors?) will turn them off. Being in Port with a limited market will also go against you.
Unfortunately sometimes the attraction of a stock standard car is that it can be personalised by the buyer.
But apart from the above, it really is a smart looking vehicle and would be a steal at around 7...maybe more if you are not in a hurry. Drive and Carsales are both good web based sales spots.
Good Luck.
You would be extremely lucky to get $7K for it. I'd say more like $4 to $5K. If it was a V8 maybe....
Some p plater will pay through the roof for it.
really not too much id say around 5 if your lucky.
my mate bought a v8 vs caprice with 160 thousand kays for 6.5 and thats a whole lot more car for the money.
IMO as clean and tidy as it is and even with low k's like abba said prolly 4 - 4.5G can pick them up rough from $600 up so top of the heap (yours) max out about that...now if it was an 8 you could name your own price...
thanks for the replies
well 4-5 wouldnt be enough for it I don't think...I've seen many VS go for around that and they have higher k's etc...but to be honest I havent had a look at VS' on the net for awhile...
As peninsula said Im probs best aiming it at other p platers...
Its a shame they arent worth that much anymore it really is a nice car....
Probably worth just keeping it I guess, and maybe feeding it a V8 later on...
Thanks again for all comments appreciate them all
I saw an equipe on ebay for around 9grand with like 96,000 kms was stock as, theres absolutly no way in hell this car is worth 5grand ive seen it in person been inside it the owners kept it in absolute perfect condition the kms are genuine and pretty low for a vs.
if i owned this car knowing how clean and well looked after it is theres no way id let it go for anywhere under 8. really cant see how people think its worth 5 grand...lol you see shitboxes with 220,000kms on carsales for 5 grand.
Are you prepared to pay 8-9K for it? Value is personal opinion, when you sell it, then you find out it's true worth.
What a car is worth and finding someone that is willing to pay that price is the hard part. alot of the time you have to compromise.
Realistically its nothing special.
A VS Equipe With Mods. At the end of the day its still an auto 6. manual would probably fetch the figures you think you will get.
and also the low kays is good. but some people km's isnt really a big thing.
good luck selling it tho mate. just remember to take the p plates off when taking photos to sell it.
and let us know how much you get for it.
damn it is a shame how commodores de value badly.. VS's are such good cars but i agree with some of you in saying that people want stock ones..its harder to sell a modded one..best off keeping it mate
I'd like to meet the person that would pay $9000 for a pretty much base model commodore and tell them that they could have my '99 Stato for that! LOL
I'd say your cars got to be in the $4000 mark if it has a full history but in the end it like most of our VS's, is a older car and even with low klm's they are starting to show their age with dated looks.
And for $9000 with even a 2 minute search if found this-
