Rear speakers on VR '93?

Bought a VR last week and a few hours ago managed to come into possession of some speakers. Pulled apart the door panel, but the speakers are about 0.5cm too wide on the mounting to fit.

But I can't for the life of me figure out how to get at the rear speakers on the boot shelf. Can't pop the grills off, and I can't find any screws on the underside in the boot that'll let me access it that way. For that matter I can't find any manuals online and none of the threads I've found in search apply to VR.

How do I get at them?
