    Default 5sp auto?

    Hi all

    Looking at buying a 355ci vs Statesman with 5sp Auto, Ive never heard of a 5sp Auto on something as old as a vs can someone please enlighten me?

    No such thing. Unless they are including the lock up converter as 5th speed, which they shouldnt, its still a 4 sp auto.

    Or even worse, including reverse as a gear.

    Just did a quick search of wikipedia and the VZ came out with the 5l40e 5 speed trans but only on the 190kw V6 engines so they do exist, is there a possibility the pattern was changed to fit the 5.0?
