    Default Extra Thermo Fan

I have a VS Ute, with a 5 post Bull bar on it. On hot days i have some engine temp problems. It has A/C, but only one thermo fan behind the Radiator. It comes on when the temp gets to halfway. Is this adjustable in any way?
Just wondering also, is it possible to fit an extra thermo fan, in Front of the A/C radiator?
Could i hook it up to an over ride toggle switch?

And is there a particular fan that would fit, after market or genuine, or universal fit?
I have plenty of room between the bull bar and the A/C Radiator.

some of the vr/vs came with an extra thermo fan in front of the air con rad, try picking one up from the wreckers, the wiring should already be there in your loom for it. Look for an extra plug in the loom just to the left of the main radiator as you stand in front of the car.

Thanks for the info. Yeh i remeber my wifes VR sedan had two thermo fans on it, one infront of the A/C radiator, and one behind it.

I will have a look at my wiring loom and check for the extra plug.
    Thanks again
    Wiseman.

The problem with adding the extra fan in front is that it tends to block the normal airflow thru the radiator. You could add a switch to manually kick the standard electric fan on but you are only treating a problem.....I'd be wanting to know why it is getting hot and fix the cause.

I don't have much normal air flow through the radiator, the problem is the big 5 post bull bar, is blocking ventilation, it only has a couple of small vent holes cut in it.
But i really need it out here in the bush, and dont want to take it off.
A fan with a switch would be good.
Most days it's all good, just lately if it's 40 degrees, stop, start traffic in town, it gets real hot .

You can get a 3 row radiator which doubles the cooling capacity for about $300.
