Default Vr caprice 5.0 wet feet?

hey guys having a problem with my vr caprice. not sure exactly whats wrong.

when turning a left hand corner the centre console leaks and wets the drivers left foot.

its cold water. and has only recently been doing it. ive only noticed it with the the a/c on and i havent owned this car thru summer so havent used the a/c much.

could it be that the plugs above the gearbox are blocked and not allowing the water to flow out of there. because as far as i knew the only water that ran thru that area should be hot. not ice cold.

    thanks alot guys

Yep will be the drains are blocked and if it's cold thats good as it shows it's comming from the drain.

If it's hot then you would have a real problem.

See if you can get some wire into the drain to un block it - not easy to do in the drive way.

The A/C drain tubes that are supposed to drain the water away from the A/C are blocked. They are under the car above to transmission ,you can see the holes going into top of the trans tunnel/floor of the car. They need somthing stuck up into these holes to unblock them, but dont use a screwdriver or piece of wire because you can damage the A/C evaporator, use long plastic zip ties or somthing similar to do the job.

As said above - long zip tip (Morton screw). If you get a larger one that is reasonable strong and about 300mm long - that should do the trick. It's only dirt in the drain generally and so should not take much to un block.

You will need the car up on stands so you can get under and into the drain. Much easier on a hoist if you can find one to hire cheap.

Sometimes the tube comes out of the evaporator box inside the car too, and the water just pours out of the empty hole. Get down under the air conditioning and check the tube that drains the evap hasn't fallen out of the bung.

Also, like in my car, the footwells get really hot due to the extractors, and I get a lot of condensation on the box and this drips into the footwells. My aircon is a bit too cold though, it comes out of the vents at 3 degrees.........

Although prob just the drain tubes blocked.
