Mine has the same sorta prob. Just not as bad.
When mine is cold it's hard to start and when you hit the accelorator it lags.
I have changed the leads, plugs, fuel filter, air filter. I have also cleaned the throttle body which has helped it.
Now it doesnt do the "about to run outta petrol noise" then revs. It just lags

    Not at all.
    Buy throttle body cleaner then...
Just remove the engine cover, remove the piping from the air box to the throttle body, open the throttle body's butterfly (the thing that lets air through, im pretty sure it's called a butterfly. Lol) to open and then spray for a bit then wipe as well as you can with a rag.

    Not currently.
My old Auto Tafe teather said something about looking at the fuel pump.
    Listen to for anything wierd.

    Random fact for a commy.
The engine has to go through a full cycle before it starts...

Throttle body cleaner can kill Throttle Position Sensors so take that out before you do it.

Are you sure that your engine is running fine, as in no knocking or noises?... a loss of power can sometimes mean that your cam is falling out of place of its bearings... Is the power loss only down low, and once at higher revs goes good...

If it's like mine it's only when it's cold.
When it warms up it's fine.
