Vs diagnostics problem need urgent answer!

my diagnostics plug and power wire connected to it are FRIED! it has melted all the way back to the loom. after spending hours figuring it all out this morning it seems everything on my dash is still ok..

all i need to know is can i cut the diagnostics plug out and safely tape the wires up so they dont short out..

in other words is the plug a necessity for the car to run?

wow someone must have connected something to it they shouldnt have.You could just cut the wires, they end at the plug anyway, so it shouldnt make any difference.Id get the wiring from a wreck and replace the fried stuff.

yeah thats no good about them burning back, tape them up will be no problem at all

well i just finished fixing it..took me all day. absolute prick of a job. dont know how it happend but the power wire to the plug was so stuffed it ended up melting all the back up to the main loom and frying about 10 wires on the way. thats why i was having so many elecy faults.

but after hours of being upside down and losing 10 litres of sweat its all back to normal and working..
lets hope i NEVER have to do that again!!
