I picked up a freebie cargo barrier and grabbed all the brackets and bolts from the wreckers, and in my wagon there is no holes in the floor for it to mount to, or am I looking in the wrong place for them. The wagons at the wreckers had holes on both sides next to the wheel arches. I've seen that to get it mounted in a workshop costs $120+, as we haven't got massive amounts of funds at the moment I was hoping to put it in myself
Also, before the search nazi's come along, all I have been able to find on here, google and another commodore forum is people asking for help but no answers lol.
Cheers
Paul.
you may have to pull up the carpet and look underneath, I had a vt that I installed on in and had to cut holes in the carpet to get the bottom hooks through
All the carpet is up because I had to lift it up to see where I had to put the babyseat bolt in. I've checked under that and there's no holes, except the 3 for the babyseats and the 2 covers for the top of the shocks.
A lot of times with things like that put the barrier in place mark where the bolt holes are and drill a small hole and you will find a welded nut there. Then its just a simple matter of grinding it out with a die grinder. I've never fitted a cargo barrier but its happened to me a fair few times with seat mounts.
I scrapped back some sound deadener where the bolts and bracket should go and I find this. If you can't make it out its just a bare metal plate, not sure what it is though. When I finally get this thing in, I'll be doing a workshop article about it so noone else has to go through it, since all I found is people asking how to do it as well lol.
Driling wont help, because from what I've seen, VR's dont have a welded nut underneath. Can anyone help?
A couple of quick shots that I just took of the bracket in my wagon. I cannot pull the carpet back any further due to the bracket.
Thanks heaps for that!
Looks like I'll be drilling those 3 holes either side myself, as where yours is bolted to is the exact place in the pic of mine I posted and I recon I have to put one of the brackets underneath the floor for the bolts to screw in it.![]()
