    Default Pod filter on V6

Got a pod filter to go on my V6, good idea or not? What are others' opinions.
    Cheers, Big Al

pod filters are good but the suck in air from the hot engine bay unless you
use pvc like many on here and mount it in front of the front left tire
the better options would to be to get a CAI and a K&N air filter
it be sucking in cold air instead of warm and with the high flow K&N air filter
you motor will run better and sound nicer

My setup is the V8 factory cold air intake on top of the radiator.. Fram Air hog panel filter in the air box.. i removed the airbox neatly hacksawed the entire bottom section off except where the CAI meets the airbox so, put the airbox back in which is essentially now a air filter holder. so this creates awesome induction noise (sucking on idle, burble on accelaration, and the car still gets cold air from the CAI and even more air from the other hole.. seriously do this its a massive improvement. ive had pods they are only effective in cold weather or when the car is just started up as all they suck in are engine bay heat. as VS6 said u can mount it low or rig up some hose from the outside of the car and bang it in the end of the pod.. if u want pics just ask

enclose the pod .... keep the hot air out .... and it will be an effective air intake. Performs better than the OTR when enclosed.

noo haha thats y they have turbos which force air in.. the only thing is if u dont have a good exhaust its like the car is taking a huge breathe in and cant breathe out so the results wont be as good as what i got. i think it would be too much back pressure

Big Al I put a rampod on my VP V6... just ripped out the stock air filter assembly and put the pod straight on the plastic pipe. Broke all the rules the guys stated above.... ie. sits a bit behind the wheel arch and probably sucks in hot air like a bitch. I think it gives me a bit more power on the highway, but it may be pure placebo. Makes the engine sound that little bit better, too

ps. make sure you tie the ring clamp on tight.... once my pod fell off, luckily it was caught in the engine bay and not lying on the road. But the V6 was sucking in unfiltered air the whole time.

    hth....

cuting the bottom of the air box defetes the purpose of a cold air ****n intake why waste ur money thats no better than an unmasked pod filter

yeah its like a pod filter with a cold air feed.. its getting cold air plus its getting air from behind the headlight anyways which is relatively cold.. its not like its sucking air from the fans like a pod would so its the best of both worlds, and the car goes harder and sounds 100times better so try it for yourself
