Hey guys,
I have a Vr executive and want to upgrade my low bcm to a high level bcm. Just wondering what I would have to do because I've searched around the forum and have only found that there is 2 extra wires on the high bcm compared to the low and mid.
The reason I wanna do this is because I want boot release, 3 button key, and a few other things.
If anyone can help me out it would be great,
Thanks![]()
Mate all I can tell you is that low series has the following-Central door locking(except series 1 utility)
washer timer, theft deterrent system, courtesy lamp delay, automatic lights off and if applicable cruise control and power windows.
High BCM has all the low stuff plus-variable windscreen wiper delay, power aerial, speed sensitive power steering(calais,Newport,Statesman),Instrument lamp dimmer, auto lamps off with delay, rear lamps failure warning, rear demister, engine cooling fan low speed relay, and theft deterrent system.
This is for a VS,doesnt mention boot release, maybe on later models.Got this out of a gregorys repair book.
Thanks for the replys.
Yeh I also want power windows and cruise control, aswell as the boot release and 3 button key. I guess if it was to hard I could upgrade to the mid bcm cause I red a while ago that it's a direct swap from low to mid (not sure if it's true) cause then I would still get power windows and cruise control.
You will still need to get the keys with the BCM. Power windows and cruise control are already available on the low BCM I'm pretty sure. have a search around, there's a thread with a chart in it that lists the features of each type of BCM.
If low doesn't support power windows, have a look around at VN window conversions, as I don't think you need to run anything through the BCM as the VN uses a module of some kind I think.
