    Exclamation Steering Bushes

    Hello,
I have a question what bushes are in the front end of a Holden VS for the Steering and suspension, I know you got your Link pin bushes, lower control arm bushes (have been told there is a inner and outer...)

I would like to replace all bushes in the car but a lot of places don't sell whole kits so I'm getting a bit lost with all these bushes, But major one I'm after is Steering bushes because I told my car in for a wheel alignment and they told me one of the bushes in there is gone.

It has 1 cm movement forward as well as backward they said to get it fixed as soon as possible, but i would like to change all steering bushes so i don't get this problem again... or for a long time a least!

anny help with be most grateful
    Thank you for reading

That sounds like the radius rod(z-bar) bushes,I would replace them with with urethane bushes ,ones with the brandname nolothane. They make it steer better and last a long time.Ive replaced nearly all of the front bushes with these and it drives like a new car,a huge difference.Nolothane are one of the best brands, try to stay away from the cheaper ones.Nolothane are all coloured red as far as I know.I have seen blue ones(not sure which brand),wear out quickly.Or you can just relpace them with the rubber ones,But they flog out to quickly for me.I wont use them.As for what to replace,Theres front and rear radius rod bushes,The inner control arm bush and the swaybar bushes.Thats about it.Theres one in the top of the strut as well,I havnt done these ones yet,I will get around to renewing it one day. so I dont know much about that one, just thats its available from Nolothane.Cheers.

I would think twice before fitting Nolathane, they will be bumpy as hell but will improve handling like Brett said. I have fitted Super pro ( Blue ones ) in my VS and they are quite bumpy too but i like them. The most comfortable is rubber but they are softer so the handling is not so good, depends what u want.

My car has new FE2 suspension with the nolothane and theres no way you could say its"bumpy as hell",just a firm ride like a new car feels. And is still nice and comfortable to ride in.

A lot of people also have super low springs and low profile tires. Couple this with urethane bushes and it is very bumpy indeed.

Super low springs will cause a harsh ride.urethane doesnt on its own.Id been told the same thing when I bought mine. But Ive found them excellent.I have just got Standard FE2 suspension, all brand new from Holden .Cheap as too.Like front FE2 springs for $29 each. The rear FE2s were $47 each.
